Hi everyone,
James is settled at VGH now and is making incredible progress every day. He is breathing on his own, and they removed the trach. He’s starting to be able to eat small amounts! His voice is also back and he is able to talk softly. He said to mention that he had a bit of a fall and chipped his front tooth and now looks like a hockey player – so he plans on being a hockey player for Halloween. His beard is also growing back in full force.
He will be at VGH for the next little while, then will go to the GF Strong Rehab Centre.
James has overcome so much. It is taking him some time to grasp the reality of what has happened. Despite this, he maintains his sense of humour and would love to be able to go to the Railway and have a beer with all of his friends.
I have been telling him about all of the benefit shows and the overwhelming support that he has received. James would like to sincerely thank his family, friends and community that have contributed in so many ways.
I would also like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the incredible support we have received. This has been the most difficult thing I have ever had to face. I would not have been able to cope without your positive thoughts and support. I hope to be able to thank everyone in person soon.
Kim

To James and Kim,
It's Jordan here from the band, Hawaiian Bibles. James, in the few times that we've met, shared a stage, or just sat and chatted with you, your spirit and wit has moved us. Please get better soon and come sing for us. jordan
I am so happy to hear this news about James. I love that guy. Tell James he's the best human being I've met in the last two years of my life, cause that's what I tell every single person when I try to explain this story (and I was saying so beforehand too). Working with James to put on Green Mountain was possibly the most satisfying accomplishment of my life so far. I would do anything to help him out, and so far that has involved giving money, love, and helping coordinate fundraising events and just telling the world. But if he needs a kidney or a glass of beer just ask.
I've got a bunch of James' pedals and guitars and stuff at my house as well, which were left behind in the jam space and I can't wait to see him play them again.
Your a wonderful person, Kim.
Give James a hug from me and Jackie.
Dave Bertrand.
The Clevette family has had both of you on our prayer list evry day. I have never met you Kim but now I know why James fell in love with you. Love holds the most magic of all healing power. May the heavens continue to wrap your bodies and souls with white light for healing.May angels always fan their wings of love all around you. With Good Spirits Karen L Clevette & the Clevette family
Hi Kim, James & Bette! You (and, that includes Super-Bette) are deeply missed here in the hood! I bumped into Kim yesterday afternoon on Granville Street which sent me searching for this blog; I'm so happy for the opportunity to follow your progress.
Reading through the blog I am touched but not surprised at the abundance of love that surrounds you; like attracts like afterall. And to both of you, even as we send you our love, know that you have both touched the lives of everyone around you with your will to overcome this adversity and your tremendous love for one another.
It is such wonderful news that you (James) have made such progress and, from the sounds of it, are well on your way to dogparking it again (perferably when the fair weather returns).
With much love,
Heather, Robbie & Blu
P.S.
Kim, that offer to look after Bette is open whenever you need it.
P.P.S.
James, ...all hail the porno beard! baio-chika-waio-waio...
